Presets are typical steady-state figures for planning; always confirm against the device datasheet, especially for outdoor gear with heaters. A switch's total PoE budget is shared across all ports — a 24-port switch rated at 250 W can't deliver 30 W to all 24 ports at once, which is why the 20% headroom matters.
